REHEARSAL
BEHAVIOR POLICIES
The following
policies help us achieve the self - discipline and professionalism for
which Mobile's Singing Children is known. These policies are followed
for the singers' safety, for ensuring orderly rehearsal, and out of respect
and courtesy for each other.
1. SINGER SHOULD
ARRIVE 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE DESIGNATED REHEARSAL TIME and report to the
choir room. They should be in their seats putting music in rehearsal order
at this time. Attendance will be taken as singers arrive. Latecomers are
to check in immediately with the Choir Manger upon arrival. A written
note to the Choir Manager is necessary for early dismissal from rehearsal
2. Singers should place any required paperwork (forms, notes, theory worksheets,
etc) in the designated spot on the table in the choir room, or give these
to the Choir Manager.
3. Singers are not to roam around the building at any time. Singers are
to restrict themselves to the Choir room, restrooms, and theory classrooms
unless directed to another area by a conductor.
4. Singers are not permitted to bring food or drink into any rehearsal
area, with the exception of concert choir (water bottles only) Concert
Choir singers should take the bottle with them after rehearsal.
5. Singers are to show respect for each other, parents, conductors, and
the facilities at all times. Singers are to pay attention to the conductor
at all times in order to develop to the best of their abilities.
6. Running, yelling, and rowdy behavior are not permitted in the building
or on the grounds at any time. Destruction of property will not be tolerated
and may result in dismissal from the choir.
7. Singers should always bring their folder, music, and two sharpened
pencils to each rehearsal, unless notified otherwise.
8. If singers cannot actively participate in a rehearsal, they should
notify the conductor before rehearsal begins and observe quietly and attentively.
9. Singers are responsible for taking home and delivering to their parents
any handouts distributed at rehearsals and/or for checking email messages.
These notices are important sources of information and should be read
by parents and singers and kept until no longer needed.
10. Once the conductor has begun, singers should be ready to make music
and focus on rehearsal goals. When the conductor stops the music, singers
should be polite and listen to the conductor's suggestions for improvement.
When the conductor walks into the room, singers should show their respect
by becoming quiet.
11. At the end of each rehearsal, parents are asked to park in their designated
parking and come to the outside door of the choir room and pick up their
singers OR drive through the driveway and pick up your child at the end
of the sidewalk outside the choir room door.
